As mentioned in a prior post, Duran Duran are, (what they term), "hard at work" on a new album with Mark Ronson. Ronson recently invited Kaiser Chiefs member Nick Hodgson to the band's London studio sessions. (Hey, if one trend doesn't work, try another). They recorded three songs together.
This is not the first Ronson / Duran collaboration. They worked with Ronson before and performed a live concert in Paris last year. Reflecting upon that experience, Duran Duran's bassist John Taylor had this to say, “Mark is one of the most exciting talents in music today. He’s a super-nice guy too, which makes it even better. He had a lot of crazy ideas which all seemed to work out. So many, in fact, that what was supposed to be a thirty-minute set turned out to be an hour and a half! And it’s great to have his big band wrap themselves around us too, horns, strings and percussion. It was really magical!”
John Taylor has recently participated in the Tap Water Project (via Unicef), which raises awareness of the world's water crisis. More information may be obtained at www.TapProjectRadio.org. The bamd are also a confirmed headliner for London's The Lovebox Weekender.
