NO B.S. GREAT MUSIC ALERT: VIDEO
This morning has brought me a shot of adrenaline via a fantastic album by VIDEO titled The Entertainers. Everything about this album has me stoked about new music this morning. It's perhaps influenced a tiny bit by 80s Hardcore, there's a bit of Goth on "I Will Wait," and it delivers a whole lot of Rock & Roll. Certain songs bring to mind Agent Orange, then post punk, and there's even some Stooges in the mix. Sometimes the music attacks and pummels and sometimes plods with doom, but it is always played by people who clearly have a grasp of songwriting and how to play their instruments with panache. It's angry and dark, but often looking towards better times. This is interesting and will survive many a spin, or click - whichever you prefer. I highly recommend you purchase it. Would I steer you wrong? VIDEO's album The Entertainers will be released by Third Man Records October 30. There was an earlier 7" single available titled "New Immortals."
