Foxygen "How Can You Really" (Rip off Todd Rundgren)?

Foxygen "How Can You Really" (Rip Off Todd Rundgren)? Foxygen "How Can You Really" from the album Foxygen...And Star Power, available October 14 via Jagjaguwar. Foxygen: The hipster version of The Darkness? Nope. Just some weasels that discovered Granny's RUNT album. Or more likely the Something/Anything single "I Saw the Light." How can you really rip off a classic song? Like that apparently. As they say, "Todd is God." Here's the classic song "I Saw the Light" by Todd Rundgren from his essential album Something/Anything. Speaking of Todd Rundgren you can check out his band Utopia as reissued and remastered and just plain all spruced up on Esoteric Recordings via the kind folks at Cherry Red Records. I'm currently listening to POV, but Oblivion and Redux '92 Live in Japan are also available. Pov includes the original album tracks, plus those from the 1986 compilation Trivia - essentially the hard core may not have "Fix Your Gaze" on this format. The booklet is top notch including an original advertisement, band photos, The Story by Mark Powell, lyrics and liner notes. Fantastic! Cherry Red gives Rhino a real run for their money in terms of top quality reissues and revamps. Check them out, because they have all sorts of genres and fantastic artists for audiophiles to fill in their collections or newbies to discover. You almost can't go wrong. From an earlier issue of the Utopia album POV, here's the track "Mated" Utopia are Todd Rundgren, Kasim Sulton, Roger Powell and John "Willie" Wilcox.
