Titus Andronicus will release The Monitor March 9th on XL Recordings. The Civil War themed album features guest appearances by members of The Hold Steady, Wye Oak, Vivian Girls and Ponytail. It features artwork by Nolen Strals (vocalist of Double Dagger), and was produced and engineered by Kevin McMahon (Pussy Cats by the Walkmen, Son of the Tiger by the Big Sleep, and Promises Promises by Die! Die! Die!).
What does the record sound like? Well, theres a lengthy tome written by Patrick Stickles, but my favorite part of it is "Blah blah blah Springsteen blah blah blah beer blah blah blah beard blah blah blah Shakespeare yadda yadda yadda Seinfeild blah blah blah Conor Oberst in a vat of acid blah blah blah books."
Titus Andronicus has done some regrouping and now consists of Patrick Stickles (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Ian Graetzer (bass), Amy Klein (Guitar, Violin), David Robbins (Keyboard and Guitar), and Eric Harm (drums, vocals).
The song “Four Score And Seven” clocks in at 8:39, so it's been broken into two parts for listeners with ADD.
Part One
Part Two
The band is holding a record-release show at Bowery Ballroom in NYC on March 6thalong with Parts and Labor and the Babies.
Here's a self titled track from the first album:
