Peter Murphy To Appear In Next Twilight Film

Need a reason to see the new Twilight film?

Legendary Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy will have a cameo appearance as "The Cold One" in the most recent installment of the uber hot Twilight series Eclipse. Murphy will attend the London premiere with his daughter Hurihan at Leicester Square at the Odeon Theatre.

Murphy said of his cameo appearance in the hot tween venture “Who else
could have and should have done it? (Laughing) It was really lovely and
smart of David Slade to ask me…I was honored, actually.” You might recall Murphy appeared rattling his cage in the David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve vampire film The Hunger while Bauhaus track "Bela Lugosi's Dead" played setting the scene.

Murphy, soon to release his ninth studio album, produced by David Baron and aptly titled Ninth has long downplayed his position as "eldergoth statesman," but seems to be accepting it almost 25 years into his solo career.

Murphy and seminal goth band Bauhaus opened for Nine Inch Nails, and Murphy joined Trent Reznor onstage for a few songs on the final NIN tour. He performed NIN's "Reptile,” along with his own hit "Strange Kind Of Love," Bauhaus' "Kick in the Eye," Joy Division cover “Atmosphere” and Pere Ubu's "Final Solution," which appeared on Murphy's 1986 solo debut Should the World Fail to Fall Apart.

Murphy continues to tour and will soon embark on the European leg of his Dirty Dirt Tour. Commenting on his performance of new material Murphy said, “I have had my Ninth album ready to go for a while now." “I’ve been playing it live, alongside Bauhaus classics and my own hits, long before the official release and it’s added more stardust to the long shelf life of songs I have under my belt.”
