Yet More Jack White News

Apparently Jack White has injured a disk in his neck ("slipped a disk") and cancelled his MTV Europe Awards performance w/ Alicia Keys. Lucky he didn't herniate one in his back - as I never quite recovered.

I purchsed the Bond Theme's single on 7" but have yet to buy a new turntable after my move. Anyone have a good mp3 of the tune?

Here is 17 seconds of Jack White being the beautiful freak he is:http://www.zshare.net/download/50423055961baca4/

News Direct From Andrew Bird's World

Andrew Bird is amazing and I love everything I've ever heard that he's released and hope to see him live again one day. Check him out if you haven't - excellent stuff. He's on a musical island with other geniuses whose names I can't recall right now. If Zappa were alive I'm sure he would have a cabana there. Here are a selection of songs by Andrew Bird. What songs you ask? Download 'em and see and then buy his music...

Nov 19 - Berlin, Germany - Roter Salon - solo show
Nov 20 - London, England- St. Giles Church - solo show

Tickets for these two intimate, preview-new-material type shows are now on sale. Act fast to make sure you get a ticket!

I am also very excited to report that Andrew's new album, Noble Beast, is finished! This beast is not to be confused with the beast that appeared on the cover of Andrew's 2005 release, The Mysterious Production of Eggs. Check the news section of our site for a track list and check out the Pitchfork stream of the opening song, "Oh No." We are putting the finishing touches on a special edition of the album - more details on that soon but it will include exclusive deluxe artwork by Diana Sudyka and it is beautiful if I do say so myself…. Also, a heads up that the November newsletter will contain on-sale info for Andrew's full band, new record, go everywhere possible 2009 tour dates – the dates will be announced here first, so stay tuned !

From new album info to old album info… after quite some time sitting by its lonely self on our office shelves, our one remaining copy of Music of Hair (Andrew's first ever release) is lonely no more. The album has been repressed and is available again in our online shop and will hit the road with the rest of the albums and shirts next year. And speaking of shirts, we are awaiting reproduction of the oft-requested "Wind-Up Bird" and "Spinny Horn" designs. Those will also be available again soon.

Finally, Andrew was immensely honored to interview global icon of classical music and beyond, Yo-Yo Ma, for MTV-IGGY last month. The interview has yet to be released but we do have documentation of Andrew and Yo-Yo playing together Watch it right here and then, enjoy your day.

Morrissey to Write Autobiography? New Album

Reportedly - former Smiths' singer Maz was on BBC Radio 2 and mentioned to Janice Long that he plans to write a career spanning book, but has no official release date. He has a new album reportedlt titled Year of Refuasal set for a February 2009 release.

R.I.P. The Long Blondes

From their myspace:

"We have decided to call it a day.

The main reason for this is that I suffered from a stroke in June and unfortunately I do not know when / if I will be well enough to play guitar again.

On behalf of the band I'd like to say a big thank you to anyone who ever came to one of our shows, bought one of our records or danced to one of our songs in a club. Thank you, if it wasn't for you the whole thing would have been pointless.

Finally on a personal note, thanks for all your well wishing messages."

More Eels News and Lovely Shiny Vinyl

Have I mentioned how much I love Eels music? You might remember the hit song "Novacaine For the Soul" from the '90s, but they are so much more than one hit. This band always - and I mean always - creates someting amazing on every release. If you haven't purchased anything by them may I suggest you consider doing so post haste?

I posted a little while ago about the Mark Oliver Everett book just released - Things the Grandchildren Should Know. I haven't heard this new download yet, and wish I could afford this deluxe vinyl, but just got this news:

"To celebrate the release of the EELS' acclaimed BLINKING LIGHTS AND OTHER REVELATIONS 4 LP deluxe vinyl limited edition the band is giving away a 4 song EP download for one week. The deluxe BLINKING LIGHTS package includes 3 LPs of the critically acclaimed album on vinyl for the first time with a fourth disc that is an exclusive 17 track live album, MANCHESTER 2005, recorded shortly after the release of BLINKING LIGHTS. Pressed on 180 gram vinyl, the 4 LPs each have their own covers, rice paper dust sleeves, and are accompanied by a hardback book of lyrics and photos, all housed in a beautifully crafted box that is numbered and begrudgingly signed by the author himself, EELS leader E. The edition is limited to only 2,500 copies and will be sold in order of lowest cover numbers first, 0001 - 2500. And this is not a fake signature like the ones often found on eBay. See a photo of the man himself signing them here: http://www.eelstheband.com/e_signs.htm

The free EP contains 4 songs from the exclusive MANCHESTER 2005 album, which is only available on vinyl as part of the BLINKING LIGHTS deluxe edition, but you can download the EP regardless of ordering the BLINKING LIGHTS deluxe edition. Anyone who wants the EP can have it! Simply enter a valid email address and follow the link from the email for easy download. The MP3s will play on any iPod, MP3 player or computer. The live album is only available on vinyl as part of this limited edition. It will not be released in any other formats.

Download the free EELS MANCHESTER 2005 EP now until Tues, Oct 28 here:

Order the limited edition deluxe signed BLINKING LIGHTS vinyl box set (INTERNATIONAL ORDERS WELCOMED) and see the complete track listing here:

Carina Round

I think Carina Round has made two amazing albums. She's in the studio tomorrow recording two new tunes. Her last record Slow Motion Addict was handled really poorly by her record company. They kept pushing back the release date and thus reviews were ill timed. It didn't get the attention it deserved. If you haven't heard her - one song doesn't do her justice, but it will have to do for now.

Here is The Buzzcocks' appearance on his show from July 24 2006:

Cheap Trick Live At Budokan: 30th Anniversary Edition

“I Want YOU to Want… ME!”
5.1 Surround sound DVD plus 3CD package of newly mixed and mastered audio tracks.
This release features the original Japanese concert which aired there, but not in the U.S. Additional '08 interviews with band members and other figures involved in this historic concert are featured in the documentary Looking Back.

Cheap Trick: Rick Nielsen (guitar), Robin Zander (vocals and guitar), Bun E. Carlos (drums), and Tom Petersson (bass). Circa 1978-79 straight outta Rockford, Illinois.

This anniversary release also boasts 1978's “Come On, Come On” with the addition of '08 Budokan recordings “Voices” and “If You Want My Love." On these four discs: One is audio from the DVD in its full 19-song length, Two is the DVD, and three and four represent the 2008 remaster of the 20th anniversary (1998) double-CD Live at Budokan.
And for vinyl junkies:

BUDOKAN!: 30th ANNIVERSARY EDITION, that brings the sight and sound together for the first time. The set will arrive in stores November 11th through Epic/Legacy, a division of SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT. Separately on October 28th, a new 12-inch vinyl LP of the Live at Budokan original 10-song album will be issued on 180 gram audiophile pressing.

“The discovery of the actual Japanese TV show footage was a real find and putting the recordings back together with the band’s original production team of Jack Douglas and Jay Messina was a natural,” said Dickinson. “Actually seeing this iconic rock and roll moment in time adds a real thrill factor. The 5.1 option even puts the listener virtually in the audience”. - Producer Bruce Dickinson

TRIVIA:
Imports were not commonplace and In February 1979, the Budokan imports became collectors items when the album was officially released on Epic Records in America. Customers looking for the live (Budokan) version of “Surrender” bought enough copies of Heaven Tonight to earn the album RIAA gold in January 1979. Budokan was released in February and certified gold in a just four weeks- and platinum two months later.

The LP is ranked on Rolling Stone’s list of “500 Greatest Albums Of All Time,” and “Surrender” appears on the magazine’s “500 Greatest Singles Of All Time” list.

Corporate Promotions and The Raconteurs

Why did The Raconteurs play a concert at a party promoting T-Mobile G1 this weekend? What is that about?

Sweet Sugar (A Sugar Themed Mix CD)

I'm sipping some glorious flavored tea, but I had to put sugar in it. I've repeatedly tried au natural, but I just can't do it. Several of my friends and I have a serious tea jones. They don't drink it sweet - nor does my Mother. I watched Good Eats and Elton Brown said tea's full flavor lasts about 6 months once opened. Good to know. I'm almost out of my Nomi vanilla black. I think at this moment I have about 25 types of tea in my cabinet. It's all sorts - I neither discriminate or segregate daddy-o. It's loose tea, bagged tea, flavored, basic black, green tea - But I - like the Archies - must have my sugar.

SHITTY CHEESE METAL MAKING A COMEBACK? A RANT! (2 counter attack mp3s)

Okay this band sounds like The Offspring, Nickelback and The Cult (circa Firewoman) had an abortion and this band was left. "I like to strip her down...She likes to shake her ass she grinds it to the beat... when I make her grind her teeth" are some of the lyrical gems.
Theory of a Deadman - "Bad Girlfriend"

And this band Buckcherry continues to crap out banal tripe for the masses. Perhaps Anal Melodies is a new genre? Probably not. This isn't their first offense - they also had the timeless classic "Crazy Bitch" - but I had to go off on them when I heard their hack of a guitar player reference "Purple Haze" on this new single. If you like lyrics such as "I put some booty on layaway" and 80's craptacular metal and cheesy sex songs in general - then Buckcherry is the band for you.

Buckcherry "Too Drunk"

And for those of you missing Limp Bizkit in your life - I've heard a rumor they will make their triumphant return. If you can't wait until then I found an equally terrible song complete with white boy raprockangst and the unnecessary use of masks (unless they are all Gene Simmons). Plus they also manage to work strippers into their video. I can't recall the tune I heard so I'll just have to post another song/video which I am sure will be pretty much the same deal. WAIT! I was just searching and I found this treat - no actual video but the song is "Bitches." "Bitches I hope you know - I won't stop til I hit that ho... get your drunk ass over here let's go." This one actually just sounds more like a poor man's Eminem, but I'll post it for your perusal.

Here is "Undead" - the song that prompted my Hollywood Undead post in the first place. "What kind of person would diss a band that deserves to get big" I guess me. I would. You're terrible. Please enjoy a smattering of their lyrical wisdom:
"I got one thing to say to punk asses who hate,
Motherfuckers who don't know what,
You better watch what you say.
From these industry fucks,
To these faggot ass punks,
You don't know what it takes"
If these guys don't have mommy and or latent homosexuality issues then I don't know who does...

Hollywood Undead "Undead"

Will I get an angry profanity laden poorly spelled comment from erstwhile Insane Clown Posse Fans? There has to be some crossover. Anyway - I drew first blood - so all's fair. You think there's gonna be a showdown?

The Raconteurs Live

Tune in this Sunday, October 19th, to NME RADIO for an exclusive broadcast of the live recording of The Raconteurs gig from the Hammersmith Apollo in London this past May. Broadcast will begin at 3:00pm BST/8:00 PM EST.

Does my vote count (at the box office) / Monkey Themed MP3s

I've been lazy. I haven't been doing my part. I wanted to see Burn Before Reading. I wanted to see the new Bill Maher film Religulous on opening night. I even wanted to see two of my favorite freaks (as opposed to geeks) James Franco and Seth Rogan reunited on their pot fueled Pineapple Express. I have seen none of these things. Last week the number one movie was about a talking Chihuahua. Now I have no anti chihuahua campaign. Quite the contrary. When I was a kid we had this jerky racist slum landlord neighbor who was friends with my Dad and when he came over with his newest crappy oil painting - my dog Chico promptly pissed on it. He was not only a fine snuggling companion, but a blunt critic of the arts. I like chihuahuas but is this really what we want to see? A fish out of water tale about a Beverly Hills pooch in Mexico? Let me make this clear - when it comes to animals in films I stand firmly on the pro chimp side and other than that have no party affiliations. I just feel like the worlds of film and television are becoming "HILLSified" and it makes me cranky.

And I admit - I am not planning to go see The Secret Life of Bees. Yes I am sure it is a fine film. Yes I know everyone should go support films that feature women so that Hollywood will open their minds as we open our pocketbooks. (What is a pocketbook by the way? Also what is a cranny as opposed to a nook?) Back to my point. I'm just not interested in the films that people keep making that feature women in major roles. I want to see women in a buddy film. I don't mean like Thelma and Louise - although I quite enjoyed it. I'm all for a well done feminist piece any day, but what I really want to see is a silly fun heartwarming buddy film about female friends who want to get laid, and maybe drunk or high, and have a crazy exciting night of a lifetime. Is that too much to ask? If it isn't can I also ask that we add a chimp?

Alicia Keys to Work With Jack White Again? (And all I got is this t-shirt).

Well never say never, but with celebrities one never knows if intentions will come to fruition. Some of us never get to work with Jack White once. And all we get for Halloween is a rock. Anyway - I ran across the following piece today regarding future possible collaborations:

Alicia wants Jack back in the studio

PA Entertainment
Alicia Keys thinks her Bond tune goes well with the movie

Alicia Keys has vowed to work with Jack White again.

The soul singer and the White Stripes and Raconteurs rocker collaborated to create the theme song for the new James Bond movie Quantum Of Solace, but Alicia already wants more.

She told the Independent: "Jack and I have been wanting to collaborate for a long while, and this was a great opportunity to do so. This won't be the last time we work together. This is just the beginning.

"The process of creating the Bond theme was fun. Jack is such a talented and soulful guy we had a lot of fun being creative. The video was even more fun. I would love to rock with him on my next album.

"I felt like us working together would create a real rock'n'soul sound. Jack's sound is very raw, very cut and dried, drums and guitar. I thought that by combining that style with mine, which already has a raw feel to it, and with my voice, we could do something really interesting that mixes rock and soul together."

Alicia, 27, revealed the new movie opens with a gripping car chase, building up to the new song.

She revealed: "We didn't watch the film before creating the sound, but it worked out perfectly. Jack had read the script before writing the song. I've seen the film now, though. It starts with a crazy car-chase, and then after that ends the song comes in. And wow... it's so right."

Ween - All the color (of the homo rainbow) ing book

from Billboard
October 15, 2008 , 12:45 PM ET

Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.

Ween has raided its archives for a CD/DVD set chronicling a Dec. 9, 1992, show at the Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill, N.C., as well as the band's first tour of Holland. The set is due Nov. 11 via Ween's own Chocodog label.

Beyond early '90s-era favorites like "Big Jilm," "You F*cked Up," "Fat Lenny" and "Don't Get 2 Close (2 My Fantasy," the Chapel Hill show includes a rendition of "Buckingham Green" several years before the song eventually appeared on the album "The Mollusk."

The DVD blends performances from the Vera club in Groningen, Holland, with material taped at WTSR radio in Trenton, N.J., and Stache's in Columbus, Ohio.

In other Ween news, the group has commissioned a coloring book drawn by Thea Wolfe, which will be available in time for the holiday season via its Web site. "If there was a better Christmas gift for a Ween fan then I don't know what it is," guitarist Mickey "Dean Ween" Melchiondo writes on Ween's site.

Paul Weller

News from the Paul Weller camp:
Sea Spray/22 Dreams
"Last week we mentioned that Paul's next single will be 'Sea Spray/22 Dreams' and promised to bring more details on the formats that will be available. It will be released on download, CD and vinyl formats available from November 3rd. The CD will have three tracks: Sea Spray (radio edit)/22 Dreams and an acoustic version of 'Have You Made Up Your Mind' recorded on a Jonathan Ross Radio 2 session. The first vinyl version will come in a classic Island bag in eggshell blue with the radio edit of 'Sea Spray' backed by '22 Dreams' The second vinyl version will come in an art worked bag with a live version of 'Sea Spray' and also a live version of '22 Dreams' taken from the iTunes Festival gig at Koko back in July. You can pre-order all three formats in a bundle deal from Townsend Records by clicking here. Don't forget that the 74 track 'Weller At The BBC' box set comes out on the same day but we'll talk about the track listing and stuff next week.

You may be aware that Iain Munn's book 'Mr Cool's Dream - The Complete History Of The Style Council' is out this week in hardback with an exclusive foreword from Mr Weller himself. 'Mr Cool's Dream' was first published in 1996 and this new version is fully revised and updated with new features. You can buy it online.

Paul's whereabouts
At the moment Paul is still out in Europe playing live and this week will finish off with dates in Austria, Italy and Spain (including the afore-mentioned Madrid gig). After that he's off to Brazil for a couple of dates and then to Dubai. Next month, of course, he comes home to play his UK tour. So next week we'll talk about the track listing for 'Weller at the BBC' and the upcoming UK tour, until then have a good one.

Cheers"

The End Of The World/ I don't always like what I blog about....

Part of the purpose of this blog is to ramble about Things I enjoy, but it is also to keep you (and me) in the loop with new music. Sometimes I post just to expose people to new music. I guess I will have to come up with some super secret signal to tip you off when I like it. How about maybe.... something crazy like "I like this."

Anyway I am digging what I have heard from this band called The End Of The World.

Bruce Sprinsteen's Stage Speech @ Vote For Change Rally

"Hello Philly, I am glad to be here today for this voter registration drive and for Barack Obama, the next President of the United States.

I've spent 35 years writing about America, its people, and the meaning of the American Promise. The Promise that was handed down to us, right here in this city from our founding fathers, with one instruction: Do your best to make these things real. Opportunity, equality, social and economic justice. A fair shake for all of our citizens, The American idea, as a positive influence, around the world for a more just and peaceful existence. These are the things that give our lives hope, shape, and meaning. They are the ties that bind us together and give us faith in our contract with one another.

I've spent most of my creative life measuring the distance between that American promise and American reality. For many Americans, who are today losing their jobs, their homes, seeing their retirement funds disappear, who have no healthcare, or who have been abandoned in our inner cities. The distance between that promise and that reality has never been greater or more painful.

I believe Senator Obama has taken the measure of that distance in his own life and in his work. I believe he understands, in his heart, the cost of that distance, in blood and suffering, in the lives of everyday Americans. I believe as president, he would work to restore that promise to so many of our fellow citizens who have justifiably lost faith in its meaning. After the disastrous administration of the past 8 years, we need someone to lead us in an American reclamation project. In my job, I travel the world, and occasionally play big stadiums, just like Senator Obama. I've continued to find, wherever I go, America remains a repository of peoples hopes, possibilities, and desires, and that despite the terrible erosion to our standing around the world, accomplished by our recent administration, we remain, for many, a house of dreams. One thousand George Bushes and one thousand Dick Cheneys will never be able to tear that house down.

They will, however, be leaving office, dropping the national tragedies of Katrina, Iraq, and our financial crisis in our laps. Our sacred house of dreams has been abused, looted, and left in a terrible state of disrepair. It needs care; it needs saving, it needs defending against those who would sell it down the river for power or a quick buck. It needs strong arms, hearts, and minds. It needs someone with Senator Obama's understanding, temperateness, deliberativeness, maturity, compassion, toughness, and faith, to help us rebuild our house once again. But most importantly, it needs us. You and me. To build that house with the generosity that is at the heart of the American spirit. A house that is truer and big enough to contain the hopes and dreams of all of our fellow Citizens. That is where our future lies. We will rise or fall as a people by our ability to accomplish this task. Now I don't know about you, but I want that dream back, I want my America back, I want my country back.

So now is the time to stand with Barack Obama and Joe Biden, roll up our sleeves, and come on up for the rising."

Marnie Stern's ridiculusly long titled album is released today

The new Marnie Stern entitled This Is It and I Am It and You Are It and So Is That and He Is It and She Is It and It Is It and That Is That) is out today and has perhaps the second longest album title ever - next to Fiona apple's "WHEN THE PAWN" hits the shops today. Fiona's title - in case you've forgotten - was When The Pawn conflicts he thinks like a king
What he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight
And he'll win the whole thing before he enters the ring
There's no body to batter when your mind is your might
So when you go solo, you hold your own hand
And remember that depth is the greatest of heights
And if you know where you stand, then you know where to land
And if you fall it won't matter, cuz you'll know that you're right

Bird and the Bee's Alex Lilly /Obi Best - Hipster Alert

I live to contradict myself. I like The Bird and The Bee, but this "just ain't my bag baby."

This video has some really cool elements and I wanted to like it, but I can't stand her phrasing. I am, however, sure it will be the new hipster favorite. So if that type of thing appeals to you here is more information:

Obi Best is comprised of synth wizards Bram Inscore (Beck, Peeping Tom, Jem) and John Wood (Inara George, Mike Andrews), drummer Barbara Gruska (Jenny Lewis, Benji Hughes), Alex Lilly on vocals/guitar/keys/g4 and guest back-up vocalists Lisa Tremain (Readers) and Kim Talon (Eagle and Talon).

WIN A FREE DVD OF LOU REED's BERLIN

http://www.berlinthefilm.com/
Lou Reed's Berlin by Julian Schnabel

No tricky contest question folks, but you have to live in the good ole U S of A. Just send me a comment and if you win I will shoot you a message. There will be two winners. The dvd will be released November 4th so the winners will not receive it until that time. GOOD LUCK!

Luaka Bop’s Three Inches of Music Series

Learn more here:
http://blip.tv/file/1256922/

The 3 Inches on 5 inch discs will be sold separately, each in their own crystal clear jewel boxes showcasing equal measures of psychedelic sing-alongs (Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt), soulful samba (Marcio Local), and the sweet sad musings of a suicidal sixteen year-old (Yonlu).

THE TERROR PIGEON DANCE REVOLT
The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt is a never- ending romp of a dance party; looped pianos and saxes race on top of crappy synths and ill beats, and like twenty vocal takes (seriously, like totally rivaling Broken Social Scene status) are mixed in there somewhere.

YONLU
Yonlu revealed just a fraction of his talent for experimentalism and a capacity to create delicate melancholy melodies before taking his own life at age 16, leaving behind works that are something between Badly Drawn Boy, Tortoise and Nick Drake.

MARCIO LOCAL
Marcio Local is a sexy samba beast and he has the hairy chest to prove it. His soulful style recalls Jorge Ben and his band is fully outfitted to rock with drums, guitar, bass, sax, trombone, trumpet and loads of percussion. The album was produced by Mario Caldato of Beastie Boys fame.

Little Joy / Sounds like The Strokes To Me

If you are a fan of Fab from The Strokes - Little Joy is his latest project. Their album will be out the first week of November.

POP CULTURE TRENDS: Lockets

So I used to always predict what the next big thing was going to be and it's been a long time since I've done so. The last thing to come into vogue that I was holding out for was mod. I thought I was all dried up after that - but I think the next big thing is going to be lockets. Start scouring those thrift stores now kids. Either that or I am totally full of shit.

THE KILLS Take Part in Myspace's Secret Show Series

MYSPACE MUSIC PRESENTS CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED DUO THE KILLS IN AN INTIMATE CLUB SHOW IN BALTIMORE ON OCTOBER 6
MySpace announces that beloved rock duo The Kills http://www.myspace.com/thekills will be playing an intimate performance at The Ottobar in Baltimore, Maryland on October 6th as part of MySpace Music's Secret Show series. The co-ed group recently released their third album, "Midnight Boom," and have spent the summer performing with The Raconteurs. The Secret Show is a free, exclusive performance for the MySpace community.

The Kills formed in London in 2000 and is comprised of Alison "VV" Mosshart and Jamie "Hotel" Hince. Over the past decade, their raw and engaging sound has allowed them to become on of the most critically acclaimed bands in the world. When discussing "Midnight Boom" this past March, the much respected British magazine Mojo raved "The Kills sound and feel like no other band" while Uncut heralded the album as "a revelation."

Recently the track "Sour Cherry" off of "Midnight Boom was heavily featured in the hit CW show "Gossip Girl." As previously stated, the Kills have spent the last month playing large outdoor venues with the Raconteurs. This MySpace Secret Show is easily the most intimate performance they will stage during this current US run, making it that much more special.

MySpace Music has organized more than 150 Secret Shows since the franchise launched in February 2006 with artists like Gnarls Barkley, The Offspring, Neil Diamond, Slayer, Fran Ferdinand, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs performing in cities around the world. Historics Finishing Up Their Debut to be Released Early '09

Historics are a brand new band featuring Don Devore (Ink & Dagger, The Icarus Line); Josh Grubb (VietNam); and Mickey Madden (Maroon 5). Until then here is a litle something in the way of video to tide you over...

"Taverns"

Tom Fuller recalls Tom Petty, Jellyfish, Beatles

This man covered "Air That I Breathe" - which I'm not sure was necessary. He has one of the creepiest promo pictures I have seen in the past 20 years, but he also has some catchy well crafted pop songs - particularly "Sunglass Wardrobe"..........

Chicago-based rocker Tom Fuller's second album is full of tunes that put his classic rock influenced riffs toe to toe with his melodic hooks and his crafty knack for lyrical narrative. Sometimes his messages are conveyed in bite-size chunks and sometimes with intriguing, poetic imagery that lets the listeners create their own interpretations. The abstract man that Fuller raised from its infant state with the help of producer Rick Chudacoff is a kaleidoscopic musical journey that exceeded any of its participants' wildest imaginations. Those true-blue rock & roll values that Fuller has held close to his heart all along bear fruit in the form of everything from the stadium-stomping Britpop of Oasis to the saber-sharp roots-rock of John Hiatt, and the kind of heartland rock that conjures up Tom Petty's finest moments.

Rounding out the EP is the bonus track “Explosions Were Heard” (Live on KEXP) from Kinetic Stereokids’ remotely broadcast on-air session in Chicago’s Engine Studios. This track encapsulates-as well as any recording can-the raw power and energy of the band’s dynamic live show. Superb mastering by Jeff Lipton at Peerless Mastering (Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Wilco) brings the entire experience to another level of speaker-shattering sonic assault.

I Adore Mirah

Mirah and No Kids, two of the northwest’s finest recording artists will be combing forces on a brief Midwest and east coast tour.

Mirah’s diverse musical output has included releases of 4-track recordings, collaborations with Phil Elvrum of The Microphones/Mount Eerie, an on-site secluded collaboration with Ginger Brooks Takahashi, a remix album, and an arts-funded collaboration with Spectratone International and visual artist Britta Johnson. Consistent amongst all these diverse releases was Mirah’s lyrical poise and honesty. Mirah has released six albums on K with a forthcoming release set for early 2009 – her first solo project since 2004’s acclaimed C’Mon Miracle.
Oct 15, 2008 - Chicago, Illinois at Epiphany Church
Oct 16, 2008 - Pontiac, Michigan at The Crofoot Ballroom, also performing with Mount Eerie and Julie Dioron
Oct 17, 2008 - Columbus, Ohio at Milo Arts
Oct 19, 2008 - Ithaca, New York at Castaways
Oct 20, 2008 - Northampton, Massachusetts at Iron Horse Music Hall
Oct 21, 2008 - Boston, Massachusetts at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
Oct 22, 2008 - New York, NY at the Highline Ballroom (CMJ Showcase)
Oct 24, 2008 - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the First Unitarian Church – Sanctuary
Oct 25, 2008 - Washington, DC at Black Cat

Mirah will be joined on these dates by Vancouver’s multi-instrumentalist pop group No Kids. No Kids debut full length was released by Tomlab in early 2008.
