An Asobi Seksu Repost and Update

Asobi Seksu = colloquial Japanese for Playful sex.

I deleted the older post and added some new info - including the album's title (Hush)which may now be announced.

Asobi Seksu's fantastic second album (2004) Citrus is being issued on 180 gram + Gatefold vinyl by Friendly Fire Recordings on November 25th. It's the first time this album has been available on vinyl and this version includes a download code for a digital version as well as bonus digital remixes.

The new Asobi Seksu release Hush), is to be released February 17th on Polyvinyl. It was produced by Chris Zane who did an amazing job on Citrus. I'll post a song as soon as I'm told they're available.


The musical womb created by the guitar and effects pedals of James Hanna are some of the most exciting sounds to happen this decade. Fans of "Shoegaze" or "Dream Pop" will definitely love Asobi Seksu as much as I do. They are an amalgamation of My Bloody Valentine, Lush, Slowdive, Ride, and Cocteau Twins with a bit of sugar thrown in for good measure via vocalist Yuki.
