Locksley Backs Ray Davies

I blogged a while back about surprisingly liking this new band Locksley. I saw a video (yeah, it happens) and thought "I dig this." Anyway they are not only opening up for Ray Davies on his latest tour but according to a press release:

"Brooklyn-Based Garage Pop Outfit Selected To Back Ray Davies On Stage 12-City US Tour

Without the support of a major label system the band was able to accomplish unprecedented success based on the merit of their songwriting, landing highly coveted spots on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel Live as well as placement of their hit single My Kind Of Lover in J.J. Abrams' much anticipated Cloverfield. They were also awarded the honor of composing Why Can't I Be You for the MTV show of the same name and the track's music video won mtvU's The Freshman and in an unprecedented move, the band was featured by MTV as Artist of The Week for two consecutive weeks in the month of September 2008."
