Folk Songstress Eddi Reader - Love is the Way

April 21 Rough Trade will release Love is the Way, the new album by Scottish singer/songwriter Eddi Reader.

Born in Glasgow, Eddi Reader began busking in the late seventies. She enjoyed a brief stint with Gang of Four as a backing vocalist, and later became a session performer for the likes of The Eurythmics and Alison Moyet.

She then joined Fairground Attraction, whose debut The First Of A Million Kisses won the best album award at the 1989 Brit awards. After their breakup she continued as a solo artist and acted for BBC Television. Many of the songs on her new album were originally intended for inclusion on a "Best Of" compilation, but Reader was so fond of them that she grew more inspired and created a complete album.
