The Horrors Debut New Video On NIN.Com

The Horros are opening for NIN in NYC and their new video is debuting on NIN.com. The band has been nominated for the U.K. Mercury Prize.

Here are the Horrors tour dates and a press release frpom the band and Trent Reznor / NIN:

NEW YORK, NY - Trent Reznor and NIN.com are pleased to present the new video of The Horrors sonf “Mirror’s Image” from their critically acclaimed XL Recordings album Primary Colours. This is the third video from the record, directed by Weirdcore (M.I.A., Jamie Lidell). The band’s performance was shot at Spring Studios in London. The low-res quality and colorful backdrop was inspired by the The Future Sound of London video for “Papua New Guinea”.

Nine Inch Nails has asked the band to open three very special shows in New York City on what Trent Reznor is calling their final tour. The lead singer, a fan of the band, recently tweeted "Be sure to get The Horror's new record Primary Colours RIGHT NOW. The greatest thing I've heard in a long time." In addition to the three shows, the band will be back in the states on a nationwide headlining tour this fall. See tour dates below.

After releasing their sophomore album, Primary Colours (produced by Portishead’s Geoff Barrow), this past May on XL Recordings, NME made it a point to ask, ““Is The Horrors' Primary Colours The Most Remarkable Second Album Reinvention Ever?” And judging from the reaction most critics had to the album and the adoring fans that came out in droves to see them on tour with The Kills this summer, they are more than worth the notice. Punknews may have gotten it right when they said, “Primary Colours is the best f**king album of 2009 so far.” The judges of the prestigious Mercury Prize in the UK seem to agree, the band has been nominated along with eleven other artists to celebrate the year’s best music. The award will be announced on September 8th.

The Horrors frontman Faris Badwan has also recorded a version of 'I'll be With You' by Atlanta’s The Black Lips. Using the name Lumina, Faris has favoured synthesisers and electronic recording techniques and recorded the song with former Ipso Facto member Cherish Kaye. It will be released later this month as a B-side to Black Lips forthcoming single on Vice Recordings.

"It's a dark-rock pocket symphony that's a sprawling, heavy and engaging achievement… The Horrors cut through all the bullshit of the modern goth underground…for a thrilling and ambitious return to the style's glory days. Go ahead, listen and try to form a case against goth. You'll come up short.” Aversion
